HOME / SCALE / DAILY USE

Bring nanmu furniture into everyday life.

A home need not be filled with timber furniture. Begin with the pieces used every day and let scale, circulation and material settle into a natural order.

Floor area is only a starting point. Finished room dimensions, openings, ceiling height and delivery access determine whether a piece truly fits.

01

Around 90 m² · two bedrooms

Keep one principal timber piece in each room: a dining table, bed and bedside cabinets, plus restrained living seating or one cabinet.

Dining table / bed / bedside cabinets / one cabinet or seating group
02

Around 120 m² · three bedrooms

Living and dining rooms can support complete everyday groups. Keep the bed and tall wardrobe on different axes; choose a desk or bookcase according to use.

03

Around 140 m² · three or four bedrooms

More complete groups can fit, but circulation and openings still need quiet space around them.

MEASURE BEFORE CHOOSING

Measure these six conditions first

01

Finished ceiling height

Tall furniture needs room for installation, levelling and anti-tip work, not only its nominal height.

02

Usable wall width

Exclude trims, skirting, switches, sockets, curtains and air returns.

03

Door swing

Allow for opening, access and passage in front of a cabinet.

04

Bedside circulation

Keep roughly 600 mm or more on the regularly used side where conditions allow.

05

Space behind dining chairs

Typically allow about 750–900 mm from table edge to wall for pulling out and passing.

06

Delivery route

Record clear door, lift, corridor-turn and internal-opening dimensions.

DIMENSION REFERENCES

Useful planning references

Useful planning references
01

Compound wardrobe

Typical height is around 2400 mm; allow installation clearance and suitable anti-tip restraint.

02

Double bed

Mattresses are commonly 1500 or 1800 mm wide; add the frame and bedside circulation.

03

Four-seat round table

A diameter around 1200–1350 mm is common, plus chair and passage space.

04

Seating and tea table

Around 350–450 mm often balances reach and comfortable standing clearance.

A HOME OVER TIME

Choose in the order life happens

01

Start with daily-use pieces

Resolve sleeping, dining and primary seating first.

02

Add storage from real needs

Size cabinets for actual clothing, objects and books rather than filling every wall.

03

Place display furniture last

Stands and long tables should serve a specific object or position and preserve breathing room.

FLOOR PLAN CONSULTATION

Begin with a measured floor plan

NANXU / BEFORE ORDERING

From a favourite piece to a workable home

Use the display to explore form and placement. Match material records, finished dimensions and delivery scope to the actual piece or approved drawing before ordering.

Material and provenance
Ask which parts use the main and secondary materials. Request the current piece ID, daylight views and details; match any provenance or test records to that piece.
Dimensions and use
Published dimensions are references. Confirm finished outer dimensions, usable clearances and space for doors, chairs, drawers and circulation; arrange a site measurement for custom work.
Structure and finish
Discuss joints, panel assembly, repairs, finishes, hardware and care. Include agreed grain photographs and acceptable variation in the confirmation record.
Quotation and delivery
Confirm furniture, packing, transport, stairs and installation separately. Record timing, non-removable component sizes, acceptance checks and follow-up arrangements.

Consider the piece in a room

These are conceptual furnishing proposals, not completed client projects. Materials, dimensions and final results require separate confirmation.

Villa: bedroom, study and tea room

Plan each room around its users and existing pieces. Check delivery routes for tall cabinets, beds and long desks before deciding on a whole-home arrangement.

City apartment: a considered focal piece

Start with a table, cabinet or pair of chairs. View the whole piece in daylight and evening light, allowing space for chairs, doors and circulation.
